imran khan offers to talk with army calls them pakistans real leaders
The former Pakistani prime minister keeps saying that he wants only to open up a dialogue with the army. He, however, has attached some conditions to it:
1. He wants the army to embrace his pronouncements that his party won the most votes in the last general election.
2. He wants all of his jailed supporters to be set free.
3. He wants another election, new, free, and fair.
He believes it is the army that rules Pakistan, not the government. That’s why he wants to speak to them and not to the rulers of the day.
Why Khan is in Trouble
Khan was ousted from the post of prime minister in 2022. Many believe it was after his falling out with the same army that had brought him to power in 2018.
Ever since Khan and his political party have hated the army. They even accused some leaders of the army of trying to kill Khan in November 2022.
Government Response
The government is not happy with the fact that Khan wants to talk with the army. According to one of the government ministers, Attaullah Tarar, Khan is only trying to drag the army into politics for personal favor.
What Happens Next
It is still a mystery as to whether the army would agree to any kind of discussion with Khan. Many close friends have left Khan’s side, most probably due to fear of the army.
