The Google-owned video-streaming service YouTube has a sizable global user base.
Many content producers utilise YouTube as a platform to connect with their audience and grow in popularity. A YouTube channel is deemed popular when it has a particular number of subscribers who provide comments and likes on the videos.
There is a function on YouTube that enables users to keep their subscriber list private. The YouTube Studio still displays the subscriber count, though.
How to hide the number of subscribers:
- Go to YouTube Studio after signing into your Google account.
- Click Settings.
- Click on Advanced options under Channel.
- Uncheck the toggle next to “Display the number of people subscribed to my channel” under the “Subscriber count” column.
- Select “Save”
In accordance with your preferences, you can select either private or public channels. On YouTube, though, every setting is set to private.

Here is how the two settings differ from one another.
Private: No other users have access to the channels you have subscribed to under the private area. Your account is hidden from view in the channel’s subscription list, even if you are subscribed.
Public: In the Public section, the opposite occurs. Other users will now be able to see which channels you have subscribed to. On your channel’s tribute, your subscriber list is prominently shown. Your account can be seen in the list of subscribers for the channel.
