Senior leader and former Federal Minister from Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Ghulam Sarwar Khan left the party over his concern for May 9 incidents that happened in many parts of the country due to arrest of Imran Khan.
Ghulam Sarwar Khan shared a video message saying, “As far as the May 9 incidents are concerned, as a Pakistani, I say that the attackers of GHQ, corps commander’s house and martyrs’ memorials are guilty of anti-nationalism”.

Ghulam Sarwar Khan also left the party like other senior PTI leader who have said goodbye to the party after 9 May incidents.
The other leaders who quit the party includes Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Malik Amin Aslam, Mahmood Moulvi, Jai Prakash, Amir Kiyani, Imran Ismail and Aftab Siddiqui.

Ghulam Sarwar Khan condemned the 9 May incidents and asserted that the miscreants did not attack GHQ but they attacked the heart of Pakistan. He strongly opposed the actions and demanded severe punishments as a patriotic Pakistani.
He mentioned that his family is related to politics for more than 50 years but he was never involved in confrontation of state institutions as state institutions should be respected by every citizen of Pakistan.
Ghulam Sarwar Khan added that, He always showed his disagreement with party’s policy of confrontation. He had been advocating that it should refrain from clashes and not fight the national institutions.
