Flood Devastation: UAE President Calls Pakistani PM to Express Sorrow

In a phone call to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed sorrow and condolences to those affected by the floods and excessive rains that were experienced in numerous Pakistani regions. 

His Majesty Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed prayed to Allah Almighty to protect Pakistan and wished the injured a rapid recovery as well as a prompt return of the displaced to their homes. 

Sheikh Mohamed emphasised, throughout the conversation, the UAE’s solidarity with the Pakistani government and people in dealing with the effects of these challenging weather conditions and its eagerness to offer all forms of support to it. 

In response, Sharif thanked the president of the UAE for the immediate relief and humanitarian aid that His Highness had directed to be given to his nation in order to address the floods and torrential rains experienced in some regions, noting the UAE’s steadfast support for Pakistan at all times and in all circumstances.

UAE’s aid for Pakistan

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered Saturday the provision of immediate relief aid to Pakistan, which is seeing torrential rains and floods resulting in deaths, injuries, and displacements.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed ordered the provision of all humanitarian relief services to the dislocated to enhance their ability to get over the challenges they are witnessing.

The UAE relief aid includes 3,000 tonnes of food supplies, tents, and shelter materials, as well as medical and pharmaceutical supplies.

The UAE relief teams will also provide humanitarian support to Pakistani institutions and cadres concerned with efforts to secure the affected and their food, logistical, and medical needs.
