China Launches First Hangor-Class Submarine for Pakistan Navy

China recently celebrated the launch of the first Hangor-class submarine built for Pakistan’s Navy in a grand ceremony held at the Wuhan shipyard in China. The event took place at the Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group’s Shuangliu Base. This is a huge move in the ongoing partnership between China and Pakistan. Many High-ranking Officials, including Pakistan’s Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf attended this ceremony.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf talks about the important role that the new Hangor-class Submarines will play in ensuring a safe and stable Maritime Environment in the country.. These Submarines use the Latest Technology, with powerful Weapons and Sensors. With these Submarines, they can hit targets from far away.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf appreciation China for the hard work of the Shipbuilding and Offshore International Company Ltd (CSOC) in building the Submarine. He also gives compliments and shows gratitude on the progress of the project. He specially mentions the strong bond between Pakistan and China. This is a relationship that continues to grow through such Collaborative projects and deep friendship.

The agreement for the construction of Eight Hangor-class submarines was signed during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Pakistan. According to the deal, four submarines will be built in China, while the other four will be constructed in Pakistan at the Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd (KS&EW), under a technology transfer arrangement. This move was taken for Pakistan’s capabilities and further strengthening its Defense industry. The Key Representatives from Pakistan and China  attended the Launch Ceremony together.
