arrests made in karachi’s orangi town heist involving police personnel
In a Significant Development Police personnel implicated in the heist in Karachi’s Orangi Town sector 5 have been apprehended. Sources reveal that the arrested officers from District South have been transferred to the Office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) West after their arrest.
The affected family was Reportedly summoned to the DIG West office where the Police officials returned the Stolen amount and 65 percent of the total Gold. The Inspector General (IG) of Sindh has directed the DIG West to complete the investigation within 24 hours.
Earlier reports Suggested the involvement of an under-training Police officer in the Orangi Town Sector 5 heist where approximately 20 million Rupees 70 to 80 tola Gold jewelry and other valuables were looted from a Residence. Evidence Points towards an under-training Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) from District South Police as a key Suspect.
Sources indicate that the Special Party led by the Suspected officer had a History of engaging in illegal Police raids. The Police have returned half of the stolen Cash, Gold ornaments, Mobile phones and laptops. Additionally there are allegations that Police officers exerted pressure on the victim to dissuade them from registering an FIR for the incident.

The Complainant Amir Baig detailed the harrowing experience, stating that the robbers, donned in both police uniforms and plain Clothes entered the house at 2:20 am, took the family hostage, looted valuables, and fled by 4:00 am. The Robbers, numbering more than 15 reportedly arrived in Police vehicles, including a mobile, a Vigo, a Mehran car, and Motorbikes.
