Dr Zakir Naik is known to be one of the most renowned scholars of Islamic history, culture and tradition in the 21st century. His arrival in Pakistani soil stirred up the nation as he landed in Islamabad International Airport this morning and was welcomed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The receiving delegation included Dr Syed Atta Ur Rehman.
Rana Mashood and Pak Parliamentary Secretary of Religious Affairs, Shamsher Ali Mazari were also present at the airport to welcome the imminent scholar.
Zakir Naik and Sheikh Faruk Naik are visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government. The duo would be scheduled to be in Karachi on Oct 5th and 6th, in Lahore on Oct 12th and 13th and Islamabad on Oct 19th and 20th.
Dr Naik had expressed on visiting the land of the pure on a podcast with a Pakistani YouTuber. He planned to make a visit in 2020 but had to cancel it due to the ongoing pandemic.
In the interview he was asked why he did not come to Pakistan instead of Malaysia after migrating from India. His simple answer was that Pakistani people knew him better than those in Malaysia. He further added that if he wanted to go to Pakistan, he could have travelled there, but as per Sharia laws and order, small loss should be tolerated to avoid big loss.
