The Saudi authorities have banned carrying Aab-e-Zamzam in checked-in luggage ahead of Zil Hajj — the month for the Islamic pilgrimage of Hajj.
According to details, Saudi General Aviation Authority issued an official notification regarding the new guideline. The statement has restricted the pilgrims from carrying Zamzam water from the well back to their countries.
Moreover, all the airlines have been asked to ensure that none of the passengers travelling through Jeddah or any other airport in Saudi Arabia has bottles filled with Aab-e-Zamzam.

It has been said that action will be ensured against the airlines in case of violation of the orders.
Aab-e-Zamzam is the water from the Zamzam well, located in Masjid al-Haram, Makkah. Water is a miraculously generated source of water according to Islamic history. It is pertinent to state that the water has great religious significance and people carry it back to their countries in great amounts after performing Hajj or Umrah.
