PCB chief ‘confident’ of India’s visit to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025

The 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy is scheduled to start from Feb 19 and the final is on March 9. Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi are earmarked as the venues of the tournament.

India hasn’t sent the team to Pakistani soil since July 2008 due to tense political relations between the two nations. The chairman stated that Pakistan is ready to host all the teams including India and preparations are in full swing.

The stadiums are being prepared to house the throngs of audience who will come to watch the matches and any other remaining work would be completed after the tournament gets over.

The PCB Chief also commented on the recent resignation of Babar Azam from white Ball captaincy and about whether the board has found any potent replacement for filling the chair stating that he has given the selection committee time to think about the possible players and not to hurry while making the decision as its going to be for a longer period of time.

He also stated that he had spoken with the captain and head coach of the teams to get an idea about whether it is a good idea to introduce some fresh blood in the business. But the response from the team management has been quite contradictory as they said they want to go ahead with the current set of players who are in the national team.
