pakistan will enjoy six holidays this year eid ul fitr 2024

Eid ul Fitr is a special time for Pakistani people, and this year, they might get an extended break to celebrate it. According to the weather department, we’re likely to have six days off during Eid Ul Fitr, which is predicted to be on April 10.

Back in 2019, the Minister of Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhary, introduced the Lunar calendar to help with moon sightings. This calendar tells us that Ramadan will last for 29 days, and then Eidul Fitr will begin on April 10. The experts at PMD (Pakistan Meteorological Department) think we’ll see the Shawwal moon on the evening of April 9, which means Eidul Fitr starts the next day.

Normally people start getting ready for Eid a day before it actually arrives. So, if the government decides to give us a holiday from April 9 (Tuesday) to April 12 (Friday), we’ll have six days off in total. That’s because Saturday and Sunday are already public holidays for most government and private offices.
