Pakistan Strongly Condemns the Heinous Terrorist attack that Occurred in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in the Iranian Provincial Capital of Kerman, Resulting in a Significant Number of Casualties and injuries. The Attack Unfolded during a Ceremony Commemorating the late Commander Qassem Soleimani, who Was Lilled by a US Drone in 2020. Two Explosions Rocked the Event causing Devastation and Sorrow.
The Blasts Occurred during a Crowded Anniversary Gathering at the Cemetery where Soleimani is laid to Rest in the Southeastern City of Kerman. Iranian state television Reported the first and then a Second Blast leading to more than 100 deaths and Numerous injuries. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed a Harsh Response to the Attackers Condemning them as Evil and Criminal Enemies.
Pakistan expressed full Solidarity with the Government and People of Iran during this Hour of Grief and Tragedy. The Foreign Office Spokesperson Emphasized that Terrorism Poses a Significant Threat to Regional and Global Peace and Security Emphasizing the need for Bilateral and Regional Cooperation to Confront this Menace. The Spokesperson Extended Heartfelt Condolences to the Families of the Victims and Prayed for the Swift Recovery of the injured.
