Every person in this world loves to travel. Some people love to discover different parts of their country, and some people love to explore other parts of the world. But when it comes to travelling, whether by flight or not, almost every individual has a passport. Today we are here with the detailed steps for how you can apply for a passport in Pakistan.

Steps to Apply for a Passport in Pakistan

1) Customer Service Counter

When you reach the regional post office, you will have to report to the customer service counter, where you will be briefed about the passport application process. If you have the required documents, you can easily get to the next step.

2) Photograph/Token Counter

Here you have to show your documents, which include a bank challan form, a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis, or a Computerised National Identity Card. Once you present your documents, your picture will be taken, and you will be provided with a token.

3) Biometric Data Counter

You will then have to approach the biometric data counter after taking the token. Here at this counter, the data entry operator will take the finger impressions of your right index finger, left index finger, right thumb, and left thumb.

4) Data Entry Counter

Here at this counter, the data entry operator will fill in your required details as provided by you. The form will also be visible to you on-screen so that any kind of misinformation is not printed on the form. Once the form is printed, the operator will give it to you so you can cross-check the information. After checking the form, you have to sign it.

5) Official Records Counter

The details that you have provided will be cross-checked with the records on the black list and exit control list. After this step, if the information is provided correctly, you will be given a Pakistani passport.

6)Interview

Finally, at last, you will be interviewed by the assistant director of the regional passport service. After the interview, the director will give you a verdict regarding your passport application.

 7) Collection of Passport

After you have covered all the above stages, if you want to apply for a normal passport, you will be given a 10-working-day window, and if you want an urgent passport, you will be given a 4-working-day window. You can collect the passport either from the regional passport office or you can pay extra charges and get the passport couriered to your home.
