Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has categorically clear that recent remarks by Richard Grenell, the newly nominated US Special Advisor for Missions, regarding founding of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party’s chief will not influence the trial procedure. Asif while talking in a TV program ‘Khabar’ of ARY News said that Pakistan is an independent country and it has the capacity to stand against any foreign aggression.
In a very sharp rise to the emerging situation, Asif challenged Grenell on his political might in the United States, stating that before the advisor started working for Trump, he was not aware of him. The minister also reiterated the past history of Pakistan in dealing with foreign interferences and sanctions and also assured that the current situation would also be dealt with in the same manner.
The defense minister also spoke about the other diplomatic issues, and assured that the relations between the USA and Pakistan are still good no matter these changes. He especially faulted the international community for hypocrisy in their activism, especially when they are worried about one person detained in Pakistan while they turn a blind eye to the goings-on in Gaza. Asif went further to accuse the PTI founder of meeting with Israeli interests, and the influence of the Israeli lobby within the American political systems.
