In a recent operation Pakistan Customs took action to stop the Smuggling of a huge Quantity of Cigarettes Valued at Rs156 million. They found and Confiscated 8,157,200 cigarette sticks between October 30, 2023, and November 05, 2023.

To tackle the issue of foreign Cigarettes being illegally brought into the country Special teams were set up by Pakistan Customs for anti-Smuggling Operations. These teams including mobile Squads at Different Places like Collectorates and airports were told to keep a close Eye on any Suspicious movement of Cigarettes in the Country.

Pakistan Customs is determined to Fight against Smuggling and this recent action Shows their Dedication to the cause. The Seized Cigarettes were worth a lot in the Market and this Highlights the challenges Posed by illegal activities Stressing the need for strict enforcement.

This Comes after another Successful effort by Pakistan Customs at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Officers at the airport stopped an attempt to Smuggle mobile Phones worth millions. During Routine checks on passengers arriving from Foreign Countries they found 51 hidden Mobile Phones valued at Rs27.6 million.

The passengers had arrived in Karachi through a Connecting flight from Dubai and they had cleverly hidden the Mobile Phones inside their Clothes in their Suitcase. These incidents show how alert and effective Pakistan Customs is in Preventing various forms of Smuggling which ultimately helps in maintaining the Security and integrity of the Country’s Borders.
