Recent heavy rainfall in Balochistan has caused chaos, especially in Gwadar, where the city has been partially submerged. All the Villages across the region have been affected badly, with link roads and Bridges damaged by the floods. The situation has been worsened by the continuous rainfall along the Pakistan Iran coastal belt.

Areas near the border, like Chaman, have also experienced heavy rainfall, adding to the woes of the residents. The Meteorological Office has released the forecasts and predicted more rain. They said there will be heavy rain along with Thunderstorms, in various districts including Quetta, Jiwani, Kech and many others. Reports of flash floods have escalated the crisis in the region, worsening the situation further and making people more worried. 

Karachi Rain

Karachi and its surrounding areas are also bracing for rainfall according to the Met Office predictions. The city might experience heavy or light rainfall over the next couple of days, extending until Friday. This forecast is part of a larger weather system affecting the country.

The Country is currently experiencing a Strong wave from the west, Which is resulting in heavy rainfall in many cities and areas. Flash floods have occurred in Rivers, Streams and torrents which also caused landslides in some areas. In Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, landslides have blocked several link roads, disrupting transportation.

The situation in low lying areas of Balochistan  and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is extremely serious. Everyday life has been severely affected by the sudden rainfall. As the weather system is likely to keep going, it’s very important for both Authorities and Communities to stay alert and take steps to reduce the effects of the ongoing rain and floods..
