On October 1, 2024, a serious jeopardy arose after the launch of air strikes and military invasion by Israel over Lebanon. It is the severe humanitarian crisis going on in Lebanon and it resulted in displacement and loss of lives of around 1.2 million based on the report of United Nations. Restlessly the conflict continues between Israel and Hezbollah.
The Paris Conference
To stop the humanitarian crisis and in support of the people of Lebanon, the French government addressed this issue at the Paris Conference. They gathered the support of 70 nations and international organisations around the world. The French President, Emmanuel Macron declared the contribution of €100 million ($108 million) for Lebanon to stop the conflict immediately and ensure the sovereignty of that country. This conference is held on Thursday, 25 October.
UAE’s Stand with Lebanon
UAE campaigned for Lebanon with the title “UAE Stands with Lebanon” and has raised over $29.9 million in the first week. They pledged to supply food, medical supplies, shelter equipment, and other relief materials. It resonates with the philanthropic phenomena and the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan who was the founding father of UAE.
