ppp leader anticipates election upset
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Nasir Hussain Shah has stirred anticipation claiming that the party is poised to deliver a significant surprise in the upcoming general elections in 2024. In an interview Shah expressed the party’s desire to see Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as the next prime minister, with Maryam Nawaz joining the federal cabinet. Additionally he suggested that figures like Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan could be appointed to Ministries if PPP secures power.
Shah emphasized the need for Collaboration among all Stakeholders asserting that the Challenges facing the Country cannot be Overcome by the ruling Party alone. Discussing the party’s strategy, he recalled PPP’s success in winning the majority of seats in Sindh during the 2013 elections despite facing difficulties. Shah acknowledged the loss of seats in South Punjab in 2018 but pointed out that PPP still gained national confidence.
Addressing the exchange of harsh statements between PPP and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Shah advocated for constructive criticism over abusive remarks in the lead-up to the general polls. He also Highlighted the efforts of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in making tough Decisions to Navigate the Country out of crisis.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto echoed Shah’s sentiments, declaring that the people of Pakistan would surprise the ‘planners’ on February 8th, the scheduled date for the general elections. During a public gathering in Mithi, Bhutto criticized the concept of “selected raj” (selected government), asserting that the people had endured it for five years but would not accept it any longer.
