Pakistan’s Prime Minister honors the warriors on Pakistan Air Force Day. Pakistan Air Force Day is celebrated on September 7 and honors the bravery and sacrifices of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) during the 1965 Indo-PAK war. On this day, the whole nation would celebrate and enshrine the remarkable achievements of PAF in defending Pakistan’s airspace and thwarting the opponents strategically.
This celebration pays tribute to the airmen who demonstrated their courage during the highly pressured and hectic times of the war. One of the most celebrated heroes of PAF day is Rashid Minhas, a young pilot who was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s biggest military honor, for his sacrifice in 1971. During this special ceremony, PAF officers laid floral wreaths and offered prayers at his grave to honor his unforgettable memory. This day is also marked by air shows, parades, and speeches from senior military officers, including Air Marshals, who restate the dedication of PAFs in defending the nation. Air Marshal Zaeem Afzal, during the ceremony, highlighted the PAF’s victory in the 1965 war, showcasing their extraordinary bravery and caliber in overcoming the superior opponent’s armed forces.
This day fosters a sense of national pride, during which both citizens and military personnel come together to celebrate their heroes who had contributed to the PAF for the security of the nation. They pledge to safeguard their nation’s border during these ceremonies.
