The Minister of Information and Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized the surpassing export with $1.2bn.
The Pakistan’s exports increased to a new extent and recorded 34.6% growth and $1.2 billion in just four months said the Minister of IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima. She has also told that the previous year the ICT exports were $894 million whereas, in October 2024 the exports of ICT and their settlements are estimated as $330 million. All these informations and achievements of Pakistan were addressed by the Minister during the first-ever Pak-US Tech Investment Conference 2024.
She underscored the significant roles of her Ministry, the visionary directives of the Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Software Export Board and IT industry for the record breaking exports.
“All institutions are working diligently with full support from the SIFC to sustain this momentum and further expand Pakistan’s footprint in te global IT market” said IT Minister Shaza Fatima.
During the Pak-US conference, she reinforced the goal of Pakistan to reach $25 billion in the IT exports within five years with the international collaborations with the companies including Google, Microsoft and she stressed the aim of widening the programs like Digiskills. She has also quoted that their country’s advancement on the global ranking under the category of Global Cybersecurity Index.
“75,000 new IT graduates entered the work force annually in Pakistan. Around 63 percent of Pakistan population is youth. This youth bulge is one of our largest assets and we are investing into their skills, certifications, and upskilling, so that we have productive and innovative young people who can serve not only the domestic market but contribute internationally” Minister Shaza Fatima proudly.
