islamabad high court orders online meetings for imran khan
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has made a decision about PTI founder Imran Khan’s meetings with his lawyers. They’ve said that these meetings can happen online due to security concerns. The court has ordered the Adiala jail superintendent to arrange these online meetings until the security issues are sorted out.
Imran Khan’s lawyers said they couldn’t meet him because of safety reasons. So the court has told the jail authorities to help set up online meetings between Imran Khan and his legal team. They also have to make sure the internet is fast enough for these meetings to go smoothly.
The jail superintendent argued that the rules didn’t allow online meetings. But the court pointed out that those rules were made a long time ago. In 1978 online meetings weren’t a thing back then.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan from the IHC issued this decision. The court wants a report from the jail superintendent by tomorrow, Friday, to make sure everything is arranged properly.
