us response to iran president’s pakistan visit
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan,Today on Monday 22 April for a three day official visit. His arrival in the federal capital was accompanied by his spouse, a high-level delegation of cabinet members, and a large team of businesspeople.
During his visit, which spans from April 22 to April 24, President Raisi will meet Pakistan’s top leadership. This means Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will meet with the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif , The president Asif Ali Zardari, the chairman of the Senate and the speaker of the National Assembly. The purpose of these Meetings is to strengthen bilateral relations. In this meeting they will discuss with a focus on trade and Cooperation in areas such as Energy, Agriculture and other sectors.
In this meeting they will discuss Regional and Global issues. They will focus on Collaboration to combat the common threat of Terrorism. One more main topic this talk will cover is security Cooperation and the potential for a Gas pipeline project. According to Sources is that a big part of President Raisi’s agenda is to explore the possibility of a free trade agreement between Pakistan and Iran.
Pakistan and Iran are also working on establishing a joint special Economic zone. The main reason is to make economic ties between the neighboring nations stronger. According to sources, the Pakistan federal cabinet has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iran during President Raisi’s visit. The special economic zone will be set up along the Ramadan-Gabad border, with plans for the project to be executed at the government-to-government level.

President Ibrahim Raisi will also travel to Karachi and Lahore to meet with Provincial Leaders During his visit, Ibrahim Raisi will also visit the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal in Lahore and the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi. where he will pay his respects to the Founder of Pakistan.

Given the high profile nature of the visit and for security reasons provincial authorities have made the security measures really tight. A public holiday has been declared in Karachi on April 23 to ensure safety and smooth operations during the visit. President Raisi will return to Tehran on Wednesday after completing his official engagements in Pakistan.
