Asif Zardari: 8-10 Days Delay in Elections Won’t Matter ECP Holds Authority

Asif Ali Zardari Co Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has Stated that a delay of 8 to 10 days in the Upcoming General Elections Scheduled for February 8, 2024 will not make a Significant difference. Zardari Emphasized that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) holds the Constitutional Authority to alter the Election Date.

While PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has Strongly Advocated for in time Elections Zardari Mentioned that a Slight Delay would not be Opposed by the PPP. He Highlighted the ECP’s Powers to adjust the Election Date Citing the example of Elections not being held in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Previously Due to adverse Conditions.

Zardari also hinted at the Possibility of joining the Race for the Prime Minister’s Position Stating that He ,Bilawal Bhutto and Khursheed Shah could all be Candidates. However he did not Disclose the PPP’s Candidate for the Top Position Leaving it to be Revealed in Due Time.

In the interview Zardari Criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Leader Imran Khan accusing him of Ruining the Country. He alleged that Imran Khan Registered illegal Afghan Nationals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as Pakistani Citizens Claiming that Fake lists were Created to Grant them ID Cards.

Zardari asserted that Imran Khan came to Power through a Conspiracy Orchestrated by Certain individuals and a Particular Mindset. He Claimed that if he had Not taken action Imran Khan would have led the Country into Default.

Additionally Zardari advocated for every Government to introduce a 10 Year Economic Formula to Steer the Country in the Right Direction Emphasizing the importance of Comprehensive and long Term Economic Planning.
