258 Pakistanis were expelled from seven countries including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and China: Officials from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. Of them 14 had Pakistani passports while 244 were issued Emergency Travel Documents.
Out of the sixteen deportees, one had a suspicious identity, which got him arrested, the rest were released after interrogation. Nine of them were professional beggars, two were deported back after serving their time after being arrested for performing hajj without valid permits.
Four of the deportees were without sponsors, while four had committed offenses related to drug trafficking from Saudi Arabia and the UAE. In the same year, deportees comprised one person each from China, Qatar, Indonesia, Cyprus, and Nigeria. Bureaucrats said there was a notable uptick in deportations.
The FIA also deboarded 35 passengers at Karachi airport for not having proper work permit, insufficient amount for performing umrah, improper documents. Local government urged people to make the right booking arrangements to avert trouble on the road.
