Hundreds of volunteers from all seven emirates joined the "We Stand Together" campaign yesterday, demonstrating the UAE's humanitarian heart and spirit.
The UAE was among the first nations to offer immediate aid to the impacted people, and the relief supplies would be urgently shipped to Pakistan.
At three locations around the nation, including Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), Expo City Dubai, and Expo Center Sharjah, volunteers of all ages and nationalities came together to prepare the aid packs in four hours.
The "We Stand Together" initiative was started by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), Dubai Cares, and Sharjah Charity International with the support of nine other UAE humanitarian organisations, including the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, The Big Heart, and the Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC).
Volunteers were organised into different teams as part of this community event to assist with the packing of two different types of relief kits, including food and hygiene kits.
